Natural Features

Located entirely within the city limits of Waco, Texas, Waco Lake is a vibrant aquatic ecosystem shaped by its unique geography. The lake is fed primarily by the Bosque's 115-mile journey through central Texas, the lake sits at a fascinating ecological crossroad.

This creates a rich sanctuary for local wildlife. Along the lake’s scenic shoreline, dense pockets of Ashe juniper, cedar elm, and majestic live oaks that provide vital nesting habitat for migratory birds and native wildlife.
