How it works
How Campervan Atlas works
Free for travellers. Open data for places. Direct contact with owners for hire.
Places to stay come from open data
Campsites, aires, motorhome parking, dump stations and water points are imported from OpenStreetMap. Where OpenStreetMap doesn't record something, such as a fee or showers, we say "not recorded" instead of guessing. You can fix or add details on OpenStreetMap using the "Edit on OpenStreetMap" link on each place page.
Vans and campsites for hire come from partners
Only rental companies and campsites we have approved can list. They send their own listings through our Partner API, including prices, photos and policies. We never copy listings from other websites.
We don't take bookings
- Check availability: this button takes you to the listing on the owner's own website, where you book and pay. We add a reference to the link so the owner knows you came from us.
- Send an enquiry: we forward your name, email, dates and message to the owner, who replies to you directly. We only send it if you tick the consent box.
Ordering and labels
Listings from real partners are shown before anything else. Sample listings, which we use to demonstrate the site, are always labelled "Sample listing — not a real offer" and are never presented as real.
Prices
Prices are "from" prices supplied by each partner. The final price, deposit and terms are on the owner's site.
